1.  Meet with Executive Board to receive folders and instructions.

 

2.  Review all information inside folder and on-line (lakeshoretennis.com) and familiarize yourself with rules and policies, especially LSWTL By-laws.

 

3.  Contact captains for preseason meeting. Contact club to find current captain if not noted. 

 

4.  At the Captains  Meeting:

  • Distribute folders, and review contents.  Ask for team rosters, and explain how captains can input rosters on the website up until the Friday before the first match. .
  • Review Team Captain Duties, Bylaws and League deadlines emphasizing to each Captain the importance of knowing the League rules and their duties.  The Captains are expected to know the rules.

 

5.  Make sure captains have input rosters by deadline.

 

6.  Host Team Captains should fax, telephone or Email scores to you immediately following their match, then follow up with a hard copy of the score sheet either by mail or fax.  Save all hard copies until the end of the season.

 

7.  Call the host Team Captains Monday afternoon if they have not called in their scores to you.  Input scores onto the website no later than 10:00 pm on Monday night.

 

8.  Upon receipt of score sheets from Team Captains, verify rosters.  Check to see that previous Court 1 players have not subsequently played Court 3 and place an asterisk by their name on the website.  Check to see that scores are correct and agree with verbally reported scores.  

 

9.  Record and track names of all non-rostered substitutes used by each team.  Each team in the league may add 2 non-rostered substitutes at any time during the season. Each non-rostered substitute must be an eligible player according to the by-laws, can only play a maximum of 2 times, and must play the lowest available court.

 

10. Be available to answer questions and help resolve any problems that may arise in your flight.

 

11.  For the last match of the season, receive and approve each teams match line-up.  Captains are to submit lineups no later than noon on the Sunday preceding the last match. 

 

12. If problems or issues arise that you are unable to resolve (according to League By-laws and/or USTA Rules), direct them to the President.

 

13. After final point tabulation (end of season), submit a typed list of winning team members to Treasurer (with correct spelling, please).

 

14. Attend post season meeting and submit report from your flight, including any problems, issues, suggestions, etc.
