1. Meet with your Flight
Chairwoman.
2. Review all information inside
your folder and on-line and familiarize yourself with LSWTL rules and policies,
especially the By-laws.
3. It is your responsibility to
input your team’s roster into the team website as soon as possible and no later
than FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2009. Remember: Every League team must have
a minimum of seven players and a maximum of twelve. D Level teams or teams with
that are the lowest team at their club may roster 14 players. All matches must
be played by these players; and no changes will be allowed to rosters after the
Friday prior to the first match. (See By-laws for more information).
4. As early as possible, arrange
for alternate indoor courts on your host days in the event of inclement
weather. If alternate courts are used, all players split costs. IT
IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOST TEAM TO SECURE INDOOR COURTS FOR 1 ½
hours. IF THIS IS NOT DONE AND INDOOR COURTS ARE NEEDED, HOST TEAM FORFEITS
ALL 9 POINTS. The window for rain courts is from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
5. Meet with your team to explain
League rules and policies. Make team aware that LSWTL Board Members, Flight
Organizational Chart, Schedule of Play and By-laws are available on-line at
lakeshoretennis.com.
6. If you are the Host team:
· Call the visiting Team Captain
by the Wednesday prior to the match to make any necessary arrangements,
communicate any tennis dress code requirements and review rain/inclement
weather arrangements, should they be necessary. This is a courtesy call and
is your responsibility. An email is NOT sufficient unless you receive a
reply.
· Provide new balls for play on
all courts
· Ensure restrooms are available
on the premises
· Provide water and towels on
each court and post-match refreshments
· Exchange lineups simultaneously
with the other teams Captain, Co-captain or designated player before any
warm-up period.
· Record scores on score sheets
and have both captains, co-captains or designated players sign. Ensure the
following
o If a team member has previously
played Court 1, this must be indicated on score sheet.
o All subs must be noted on the
score sheet.
· Call, fax or email match
results for each court, including players names and their set scores, to your
Flight Chairwoman immediately following the match and no later than 3:00 PM on
match day.
· Send, fax, or e-mail original
signed score sheet to Flight Chairwoman and keep a copy for you.
7. Team Captains, Co-Captains, or
a designated player shall be present at all matches with a copy of the current
LSWTL By-laws, USTA Tie-Break guidelines and USTA Rules of Tennis. It is
the Team Captain’s responsibility to know the rules.
8. Relay problems, suggestions
and/or complaints to your Flight Chairwoman.
9. If your team wins your flight,
send a typed list of team members names (to appear on trophy) to your
Flight Chairwoman, indicating Captain.
