Rosters
Each team may roster 12 players. All
D teams may roster 14 players. The lowest team from your club, or the
only team from your club, may roster 14. Players can be any member of
your club. No restrictions for players who play in any other league.
Players may only be rostered for one Lake Shore team. Rosters must be
entered by Friday, May 29.
Substitutes
Rostered subs may be used at any time
in the season. A rostered sub is a person listed as player on another
Lake Shore team from your own club. A player rostered on a lower or
equal level team may sub no more than twice during the season for any
team. They may sub for more than one team, but only twice for each team.
Players may not sub for a lower team.
Unrostered subs are players who are
not listed on a Lake Shore tennis team, but must be a member of your
club. Each team may use 2 unrostered subs during the season. Each of
these players may only play twice, and always play the lowest available
court. If the spirit of the game is compromised by the use of an unrostered
sub, the Board has the right to deny their use.
Host Team Responsibilities
The host team must call the visiting
team by 9:00 PM on the Wednesday before the Monday match. At this time,
they MUST inform the visitors of the rain time. It is the
SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of the host team to secure rain courts. Indoor
court time is 1.5 hours and can be between 9 AM and 9PM. We have extended
the time because fewer courts are available for use but please try to
avoid playing after 5PM unless absolutely necessary. If the host team
has not secured rain courts and advised the visitors on the Wednesday
prior to the match and rain courts are needed, the host team FORFEITS
ALL 9 POINTS.
Outdoor Play
There is no time limit. Teams receive
a point for each set won. First team to win 2 sets is winner and
will receive a bonus point. You are not allowed to play a third set
if one team wins the first two sets. Any set can go to a tie-break at
6/6, including a third set.
Indoor Play
All teams may only play 1.5 hours indoors.
The host team must get indoor court time between 9AM and 9PM.
Warm-up is 10 minutes only. If at the end of 2 sets, each team has won
1 set, an indoor match tie-break shall be played INSTEAD of a third
set. This is a 10 point tie-break instead of the usual 7. No third set
will be played indoors. The 10 point tie-break is replacing a third
set INDOORS ONLY. If time runs out, and the second set is not finished,
the team ahead by 2 games gets the point. Bonus points will be awarded
or split.
Matches and Team Movement
There are 8 matches this season, including
a "crossover" match, with a team in the other division of your flight.
These points will count in the standings. THERE ARE NO PLAYOFFS. WINNERS
OF EACH FLIGHT MOVE UP AND LOSERS MOVE DOWN. If a team forfeits more
than 6 courts during the season, the Board may take action as they see
fit.
